Planning for Laws Improving Campus Security & Response

Alyssa’s Law in New Jersey has emerged as a national model to address the issue of law enforcement response time and how schools manage campus security when a life-threatening emergency occurs.

The law requires the installation of warning lights and a panic button alarm system in all schools to provide the fastest possible support during a code red, non-fire evacuation or lockdown incident.

A similar bill has been filed in Florida, and a petition is underway to ensure Alyssa’s Law gets passed at the national level.
